We offer a variety of workshops especially for Schools who have identified pupils in need of extra help. This can be the 11 Plus, SATs or GCSEs and cover Maths, English or Science.
Typically one of our highly trained teachers or tutors who are specialists in their field (and come CRB checked too) will come to your School and teach pupils usually in small groups of up to about a dozen or so pupils so they can offer a more personal and hands on approach to some of the issues some of your pupils may face. All workshops are held once or twice a week and usually last for at least a term.
We cover the following subjects and age ranges etc.
- Maths: 5 to 18 years of age. Key stages 1,2,3,4, and 5. 11 Plus, SATs, GCSEs and A Levels.
- English: 5 to 16 years of age. Key stages 1,2,3 and 4. 11 Plus, SATs and GCSEs.
- Science: 11 to 16 years of age. Key stage 3 and GCSEs.

Our workshops can be tailored to all ability levels or just specific ones.
- Everything is age appropriate.
- We have good organisational skills which make sure all the workshops run without a hitch.
- We like to do things in a memorable way.
- We strive to always to make the learning experience for your pupils’ fun and that get them really excited and inspired to want to do well and learn more.
Our Maths and English Workshops
All our Maths and English workshops are designed by our teachers for teachers. The workshops will help your pupils develop skills such as problem solving, reasoning, language and literacy.
They can then apply what they have learnt from the curriculum in more engaging ways and it also gives you the teacher the chance to sit back and observe your pupils learning in ways that will help them progress further.
From time we may hold mini workshops for teachers and pupils free of charge lasting about an hour or so just to give you a little taste of what we can bring to the table when it comes to help raise standards at your School.
We have recently been working with Thorpe Dean School and Castle View School amongst others producing good results for their pupils. We operate in the Leigh on Sea, Basildon and Benfleet areas but we may be able to work outside those areas depending on your exact location.
The Owners of JJ’s tuition (Craig and Julie) have been in education for over 20 years each and run successful tuition businesses in Leigh on sea, Basildon and Benfleet. Having taught hundreds of children struggling to meet their expectations they have in almost 100% of cases helped them improve and thrive academically.
